What to bring to Summer Camp!

So your big day is coming up! Soon you'll be arriving at Canoe Cove Christian Camp all bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready for a week jammed packed with friends, food and awesome time learning about God. So as you prepare for this adventure and start to pack your gear (or if you're in High school, as you start to randomly throw your stuff into a ripped suitcase because you lost track of time playing video games, but your drive is impatiently waiting downstairs) here are a few things to remember! Suggested Packing List Please place names on inside of items as the Camp and Camp staff are not responsible for lost or misplaced items: – Sleeping Bag, pillow, blanket – Toothbrush, tooth paste, hair brush, other toiletries, towels (beach and shower), sunscreen, shampoo & soap – Clothes (it would be wise to bring things you don't mind getting dirty or ripped because, well, this is camp and you never know what will happen); - lightweight jacket and a hoodie or sweater, - A baseball or some type of hat (to protect that head from the sun) - comfortable and casual pairs of pants, shorts (No short-shorts) shirts, sweater, socks - swimwear; guys: no speedo's girls: if wearing a two piece it must have a swim shirt or t-shirt over it – pj’s and other necessities - Outdoor footwear and swim footwear – indoor shoes or slippers (as we do not allow bare feet and prefer to not see socked feet, this is for health and safety reason) – Bible, pen, notebook – flashlight - Any necessary medications (these need to be given to the Camp Nurse during registration and the Camp Nurse will be responsible for the administration throughout the weekend) Things not to bring and if you do and they get lost or damaged, the camp and its staff are not responsible - spending money – cell phones or electronics (for safety purposes, these will be locked away until the end of camp, so it is wiser to keep it home) - Scented products – drugs, alcohol, or any illegal substances – weapons or laser pointers - Snacks and candies - a bad attitude So there you have it! Bring this gear with you and you'll be all set for the weekend! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Camp and we'd be happy to assist you. Can't wait to see you there! Happy packing!
