VOLUNTEER COUNSELOR
Canoe Cove Christian Camp
is seeking dynamic, energetic and spiritually mature candidates
for male and female volunteer Counselors
for individual camps, for the 2010 summer camp season.

Qualifications:
- Must be an immersed believer in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
- Must be a member in good standing of the Christian Church/Church of Christ
Fellowship.
- Be spiritually mature, prepared to give an answer to those campers who will ask about
his/her faith.
- Applicant should be active in various aspects of life in a church family.
- Be in excellent general health, and be expected to participate in all the
scheduled camp activities.
- Must agree to abide by the camp's rules and regulations and serve under the supervision
of the Program Director.
- Be willing to attend all scheduled training times and planning meetings for camp
staff.
- Must exude Christ-like character and conduct at all times.
- Be able to relate well with children of all ages.
- Have leadership qualities and be able to work and communicate well with others.
- Be a strong swimmer.
- Provide a Certified Police Clearance Certificate to the Camp Managers (available through
your local police force).

Job Description:
- Execute the camp program under the direction of the Program Director
- Supervise campers onsite
- Ensure cabins are kept clean on a daily basis
- Ensure appropriate behaviour of campers within cabins and on the camp grounds, referring
any problems requiring discipline to the Program Director
- Ensure that camp rules and regulations are adhered to
- Work with teams doing chores, preparing devotions and skits, and participating in worship,
recreational and craft activities
- Arrive at camp 2 hours before camp registration begins
- Will not leave campgrounds or leave the cabin unattended at night
- maintain a clean, neat and appropriate appearance
- Report any unusual circumstances, illnesses or injuries to the Program Director
- Address any physical or emotional problems that campers may experience
- Attend daily staff meetings
- Ensure facilities and equipment are properly cared for; report items or facilities in need
of repair to the Program Director
- Perform other duties as required.

Remuneration policy: Your service may count toward your own camp registration fees, on a "Day-For-Day"
basis, or toward your application for the Provincial Community Service Bursary. Please contact the Camp Manager for
